Your Last Chance
Our text will come from Revelation 20:15. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
One day whether Christian or not, all be judged.
We as Christians will be judged as servants of Christ and rewarded according to how we lived as Christians and those that are not Christians (condemned already) will be judged according to their works. That’s a scary thought. I would not want all of my works, thoughts, words, and motives to be exposed, would you?
In the case of the judgment of those that are not Christians notice from our text what their sentence is. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
In light of that there will be a last chance to get saved. Whether it will be at church, or by reading the Bible or a pamphlet that tells how one can be saved, or by a witness from someone the last chance will come and go. In any case there will be a last chance.
How sad out in eternity when you will remember the last chance or opportunity that you had to get saved but put it off or laughed it off. At that point it will be no laughing matter. It will be horrific. Just thinking about it will be torment enough. Knowing you could have had your name in the book of life but you said, “Not now” or something like that.
The problem with the last chance is that you usually don’t know when that is unless you’re dying and you know it and still don’t call on Jesus to save you.
Just think about it. Today could be your last chance to get saved. Today could be your last chance to have your name written down in the book of life. Today could be your last chance to have your sins forgiven and taken away. Tomorrow you may not be here so really it is foolish to put off getting saved. You only have today to get saved you do not have tomorrow because it is not guaranteed. You don’t get a second chance after you die. Your eternal destiny after you die will be determined by your decision you make in this life.
Call on Jesus today to forgive you and ask Him to save you from your sins and hell. Today could be your last chance to get saved.
May God help you to see that.
