Our text is from from Titus 1:2. In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;
As children, I’m sure many of us were made promises by adults and just to remind them to keep those promises we would say, “You Promised!” What a wonderful God we have. He has made us many promises in his word. Promises concerning our well being, our lives, our homes, our friends, and our futures, especially Heaven.
I know there are times when the Devil will make us doubt God’s promises. That’s when we need to tell him, “You Promised, Lord!” He always keeps his promises.
Look at our text. God cannot lie. Do you realize what a blessing that is? If he tells us that we have eternal life that is just what we have, not temporal life. Remember, God cannot lie. So he will never promise you something and not follow through with it. You can count on him for that.
If he says you are going to Heaven when you die, guess what? You are going to Heaven when you die.
If he says that he loves us, guess what? He loves us.
The doubts concerning God’s promises will come from the Devil. All you have to do is go to the word of God and say, “God, You Promised.”
