You can lead a mule to water but you can't make him drink it.
And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
Before the Lord closes out his letter to us He leaves us one final invitation to come and get a drink of the water of life.
In the animal world many animals travel for miles to get a drink of water. If they don’t want any they won’t go where water is at. But because of drought or contamination they migrate to where good water is. An animal won’t drink if they are not thirsty even though there may be plenty of it around. I’m much the same way. It is hard for me to force myself to drink water if I don’t want it.
I think about that when it comes to spiritual water. You can offer a man a drink but if he isn’t thirsty he won’t drink. He has to want it and usually to get to that point he has to experience debt, despair, or destitution. In other words he has to get to the place where he is thirsty.
God’s water is free and healthy but He won’t force you to drink it. You have to want it. You have to take the cup. It’s up to you. My advice for you is to drink the water now while you can because in Hell there is no water and none will ever be offered.
