What More Could I Ask?

My text will come from Psalm 68:19. Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.

In this chapter the Psalmist is telling his readers that as God’s children we have benefits on a daily basis. Though we may not notice them or perhaps we just take them for granted or don’t realize what they are, we still have benefits daily as one of God’s children. Knowing that, now that I’m in my 60s I couldn’t ask for anything more. I mean, God has blessed me more than I deserve.

Here are some benefits that the Lord has loaded me up with on a daily basis.

  1. Eternal salvation. I’m saved and praise God that it is not temporary!

  2. My sins are all forgiven: past, present, future.

  3. I am covered by the blood of Christ and I’m clean in God’s sight.

  4. It’s God’s salvation. He saved me, keeps me, and it’s not dependent on me.

  5. I think of and know of a wonderful place that I will go to when I die. It’s called Heaven.

  6. I have a Bible that tells me of salvation, how to live, how to die, Heaven, eternity, and all the other wonderful things of God.

  7. I live in a country where I have the freedom to go to church, read the Bible, and witness for the Lord. Many countries don’t allow that.

  8. Though I have some health issues, I can praise God for the health that I do have. It could always be worse.

  9. Each day I wake up I have another chance to bless God.

  10. I have a mind to think about God. A lot of people have lost their minds.

  11. I have a tongue to praise God and give thanks to him.

  12. My lungs, eyes, hands, feet, kidneys, liver, are still working.

  13. I still have a great church to go to and serve in.

  14. I have lots of brothers, sisters, moms, dads, sons, and daughters in the Lord that love me and pray for me.

  15. I have a saved dad at 97.

  16. I have saved children.

  17. I have a saved wife that is a jewel.

  18. I have my needs met and a lot of my wants met too.

  19. My bills are all paid with money in the bank.

  20. My house is paid for.

  21. I have fairly new vehicles with low miles and they are paid for.

So what more could I ask for.

The truth of the matter is, if we live in America we are all blessed daily with benefits that many others don’t have.

May God help you to consider the daily benefits that the Lord has loaded you up with.
