My text that I will be using today is from Matthew 3:16. And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: 3:17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
Here in this picture the dog and the cat seem well pleased with each other. I wonder if that is the way our relationship with God is. No doubt, we may be well pleased with what Jesus Christ did for us at the cross when he paid for our sins and gave us a way to heaven, but is God well pleased with what we are doing for him. After all that he has done for us it seems only fair that we do something for the Lord so that he will be well pleased with us, just as he was well pleased with his only begotten son.
Every Christian should do some soul searching and ask himself, “Am I well pleasing to God?” Are you? You know the answer to that and of course God knows and yes the devil knows also, so there is really no point in kidding yourself. If you are not a Christian, you are not well pleasing to God because you have rejected God’s son as payment for your sins. I urge you to consider trusting the Lord Jesus Christ today as your own Saviour so God will be well pleased with you also.
Nothing is more important.
