The Most Important Thing

My text will come from Romans 6:23. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

I wish people could see this. I wish that they could see that eternal life is more important than anything they have going right now or more important than anything going on tomorrow or next week or next month or even next year. There is nothing more important, because when you think of eternity, it is a very long time to spend it in a place that will be absolutely miserable in every sense of the imagination.

Perhaps you may be thinking that Hell won’t be all that bad. Let’s see. Go home turn your stove on ‘hi’ and jump up on it a sit there a while and see how you will like that. If you don’t like that then you will hate Hell. I say “hate” because that is what will be there. No love, no peace, no joy, no friends, no light, no rest or relief from pain and suffering, and no chance of ever getting out. Who wouldn’t hate a place like that?

You see, the most important thing in life is whether or not you are prepared for eternity, whether or not you have called on the Lord Jesus Christ to save you from Hell, and whether or not you are trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ alone for your eternal life and destiny. He is the only one that can save you and it’s only through the Lord Jesus Christ that you will have eternal life. Eternal life is in Jesus, not in good works, being a good person, or being religious. The Lord Jesus Christ is your only hope!

If you don’t have this issue settled, I can say dear reader that you have bypassed the most important decision of your life and it will have eternal and horrendous consequences. You have no forgiveness of sins, no hope, no eternal life.

Right now call on Jesus to save you from sin and Hell. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13.

It is a total waste if you live your whole life and didn’t take care of the most important thing of your life.

May God give you the vision to see what is the most important thing.
