Our text will be taken from 1st Corinthians 15:58. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
With all the media news (mostly bad) it is easy to get focused on other things that are not as important as what we need to be looking at.
We may start out focused on a certain plan, opportunity, or goal but it usually doesn’t take long for us many times to start looking at the wrong things and we begin to worry, get stressed, fret, get discouraged, or even despair over things that we can’t do anything about anyway. Some get so obsessed with some things that they lose sleep, get sick, and have other issues at home, work, or in other social circles. You can’t have a decent conversation with some because all they think about is things that you can’t do anything about.
Our text tells us what to labor in and what to continue in. It tells us how we are to stand in this world and it tells us that serving the Lord will not be in vain.
If you want to focus on something where you will find peace, contentment, joy, happiness, stability, confidence, and temperance look at the Word of God. There you will see how to have joy, how to think, how to talk, how to live, how to have confidence, how to have and maintain peace, how to have a solid foundation, and how to die with a victorious testimony.
May God help us to stay focused.
