Sorry About Your Luck

Our text is from Isaiah 45:22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.

Here the Lord is telling Israel to look to him for salvation because no one else will be able to deliver them neither any of their phony gods. In verse 27 in the same chapter the Lord mentions those that pray to a god that cannot save in other words, “Sorry about your luck.”

Just like the people back in those days that looked in all the wrong places and all the wrong directions for deliverance, today people will try anything but God to get them out of their messes.

They will try the lottery hoping that money is the answer to their problems which will only add new problems. They won’t win anyway. Sorry about their luck.

Many will try some kind of vice thinking they can escape their problems. Sorry about their luck.

Some tries relationships thinking that others will help them out of some mess that they got themselves into. Sorry about their luck.

Other look to the government thinking it will bail them out of some debt or trouble. Sorry about their luck.

And finally there are those that seek religion and good works thinking that God will look down on them with some kind of special grace because of their own merits. Sorry about their luck.

Without Jesus Christ there is no hope at all of getting saved from sin or Hell. He is the only one that can save you and he is the only hope you have if you want to go to Heaven. It’s not about luck, it is about the love of God that was displayed to us long ago on a old rugged cross.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

If you put your trust in Jesus Christ to forgive you of your sins and to save you from Hell then you will be saved and blessed but, if you put your trust in any thing else…
