Seeing Things Right
Our text comes from Revelation 318. I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
“I don’t see anything wrong with it.” Have you heard that before? Most of us have. It is interesting to note that those that make that statement never say, “I don’t see any thing right with it.”
If they were as zealous about justifying right things as they are about justifying wrong things, they would be great spiritual people. Unfortunately, most people are interested in doing wrong or at least getting as close to wrong as they can get and then they justify it by using the popular expression.
We all have a tendency to do it at times because it is in our sin nature.
Our text indicates that many folks have eye problems and many are blind and need some eye salve applied so they can see clearly. When it comes to spiritual things many are as blind as a bat.
In any account, if you want to see things right, first of all get saved. You’ll be surprised how getting saved will clear up your vision. Then start reading the Holy Bible and you will start to understand and see things the way God sees them and then if others see things any different it won’t make any difference. The way God sees things is what matters anyway.
There is a right way and a wrong way to see things. It’s either God’s way or the wrong way.
May God anoint your eyes to see clearly and to see them as God sees them.
