No Greater Joy
Our text will come from 3rd John 4. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
I suppose there is truly no greater joy than to know that after raising your children the best that you can they turn out halfway right. After having children of my own I understand this and it is nice to know that your children are doing the right thing or at least trying to do the right thing. With the way the world is headed even in a Christian atmosphere and being subjected to the teaching and preaching of the word of God it will be a miracle if only a few turn out okay.
The Bible makes it clear that in the last days men would become worse and worse and people will fall away from godly principles and biblical standards. Morality will go down the tube along with character, so if you have children that are in church and that enjoy going to church and are trying to serve the Lord in some capacity you have something to praise God for because there are multitudes of parents that do not have children that are serving anything but themselves, or the world, or the devil.
The apostle John had spiritual children and it was a blessing to him to see that they were still growing in the Lord, serving the Lord, and trying to please God. What a blessing!
I thank God I had a mom and dad that took me to church and pointed me to Jesus and as a result, I was saved. Now I’m going to heaven because of good parents. This is not to take away any glory from God because it was God that saved me and I thank God for that but the Lord used my parents to bring me to the point of salvation for which I’m grateful for. Good parents are supposed to do that.
If you have children, may God help you to pray for them, read the Bible to them, help them, encourage them, spend time with them, and point them to Jesus because the devil is out there as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. Remember, at the end of the day they will be serving Jesus Christ or the world, the flesh, and/or the devil.
May you have the joy to know that your children walk in truth because there is no greater joy.
