Meet for the Master's Use
My text will come from 2nd Timothy 2:20-21. But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.
Here in these verses the Lord is telling us that in every house there are some good pieces of furniture and some not so good. Some that are clean and some that are dirty. Some that are honorable and some that are not so honorable. He then tells us that if we would purge ourselves of the bad vessels or the dishonorable things that we could be used of God.
The reason the Lord can’t use many people is that they will not get rid of the sin in their lives. They are not meet (proper or fit) for the master’s use. He wants to use us but if we are dishonorable he can’t use us. He needs clean vessels.
What about you? Are you meet for the master’s use?
