Keep Your Fork
Our text is from Revelation 21:4. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
The country folks have a saying that says, “Keep your fork, the best is yet to come!” Of course, this is referring to desert which most enjoy after their meal. Thus, desert is compared to the promises of Heaven.
This is what the Holy Bible says in our text. Yes, in this life we suffer hard times, sadness, disappointments, sickness, trouble, pain and suffering, heartbreak, and death, however, one day will come when the best is yet to come. In Revelation 21 God speaks of a new Heaven and a new Earth. What wonderful promises we have to be a part of and to look forward to, so,
Keep your fork.
You haven’t seen anything yet.
The best is yet to come.
