I Didn't Ask That.

My text will come from 1st John 5:12. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

Just this past week the Lord gave the wonder privilege of leading a young boy to the Lord. He was hesitant because had some doubts. I gave him the verse that I used for today’s text so he could see that you either have the Son of God in your body or you don’t; it’s just that simple.

Salvation is truly simple but there are those that make it difficult because they are not sure of their own salvation because they believe there is an element of self involved.

If you ask various people if they are saved, you will hear all kinds of answers.

  1. I’m a good person. I didn’t ask that.

  2. I go to church. I didn’t ask that.

  3. I was raised in church. I didn’t ask that.

  4. I’m doing the best I can. I didn’t ask that.

  5. I was baptized. I didn’t ask that.

  6. I think everyone goes to heaven. I didn’t ask that.

  7. I haven’t murdered anybody. I didn’t ask that.

  8. I’m as good as many and better than some. I didn’t ask that.

  9. I don’t believe that anyone can know where they are going when they die. I didn’t ask that.

You either have the Son of God dwelling in you; or you don’t.

The apostle Paul was concerned about this very thing. In 1st Corinthians chapter 11, verse 3 he speaks of the simplicity that is in Christ and yet it goes on. The devil tries to make it as difficult as he can so you will just give up on the whole thing and then die and end up in a lake of fire. He then laughs at another victory that he has accomplished.

If you are not saved, be honest about it and call on the Lord Jesus Christ to save you today. Don’t wait till tomorrow. You don’t have that for sure.

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13

It's really very simple to be saved. Don't make it difficult.
