Our text is from Nehemiah 6:9. For they all made us afraid, saying, Their hands shall be weakened from the work, that it be not done. Now therefore, O God, strengthen my hands.
The picture shows a man trying to encourage and help someone else to finish to goal.
Nehemiah faced the same kind of situation. After 70 years of captivity the king of Babylon gave him permission to go back and build the city of Jerusalem. But as would be the case, there were men that stood by to discourage and hinder Nehemiah and his co-workers so they would give up and stop. But Nehemiah had to rely on the Lord to strengthen his hands and with that, the work continued and was finished.
If you set out to do something good for God, don’t expect it to be without opposition. The devil will try to get you to give up. Friends and family will try to get you to give up, and perhaps even your health will try to get you to give up.
Just as the one in the picture is being encouraged and helped to keep going, God wants you to keep going for Him. You see, He didn’t give up for you when He went to the cross. He finished the job He was sent to do. To pay for your sins. Remember, someone else maybe watching you to see if you will give up or get up, and keep going. Rely on the Lord to strengthen your hands and don’t give up.
I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD: I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only. Psalm 71:16.
