A Foolish Thing
My text will come from Luke 12:20. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
Here is a man that has gotten himself in a good position to retire but he forgets one thing. What about after he dies? What kind of position will he have in eternity? It is a foolish thing to cover all your bases and yet not cover the most important one of all.
He dies and goes out into eternity unprepared and his sins unforgiven as so many have and will do. That is a foolish thing to do. His destiny—a lake of fire.
The lesson to us is clear. Don’t ignore your eternal destiny. That is the most important thing in your life. First get your eternal destiny fixed so you’ll be in a good position there and then worry about the secondary things later.
A foolish thing is not being prepared for eternity.
Don’t be a fool.
